Teresa: How’d you get AI to really, honestly sound like you? So when it produces something, it actually makes something that you can use and not just create something that sounds like AI’s written it. Well, today I am interviewing the Super smart Jen Lehner on the podcast, and she walks us through the exact steps that we need to take to help AI sound more like us so that when we are asking it to do things.

I’m your host, as always Teresa Heath Wareing . I hope you are doing well this week. Okay. We can’t go 30 seconds without someone saying something, ai, without people using ai, without people doing something that you can get help with ai.

But I wonder how many of us are actually really using it as it could be used, and how many of us are just merely dabbling with it and [00:02:00] therefore getting frustrated that it’s not bringing us. The results that everyone else keeps telling, it brings them. Today I am interviewing one of my very best friends, Jen Lehner.

Jen is a digital marketing and system strategist. She shows entrepreneurs how to build audience and monetize their expertise online using social media, digital tools, and strategic outsourcing. She creates online courses and trainings and her favorite place to hang out is in her private mastermind, the front row, VIP. Jen, is amazing. She is so, so cool. She’s been in this industry a while. We met a long time ago. In fact, I think we’ve probably been in a similar amount of time, if not a bit longer. She’s had a bit longer than me, but Jen is, and one of the things I say in this interview is it’s like Jen’s main thing is to help you run your businesses quicker and easier.

’cause for a long while, and genders still help entrepreneurs and [00:03:00] solopreneurs build their team. But Jen is obsessed with all things ai, like we all voice message and she’ll be down some crazy rabbit hole doing something amazing in ai and she just blows me away. So I wanted to bring her back on the podcast the second time she’s been on.

Previously, I think she was talking about bringing on a team member and I wanted her to come on and talk about ai, but in a way that really genuinely helps us save time, do things quicker, create better outcomes, because I dunno about you, but often I will try and do something and it just ends up sounding like AI wrote it and it hasn’t really helped me in certain ways that I would like it to.

However, there are other times that it’s really helped me. But I know that Jen is like the queen of this stuff, and I will often DM her and go, Jen, I wanna do this. Is there an AI that can do it for me? And she just knows all the things. [00:04:00] So she’s coming on today and she’s talking about not just, you know, AI’s good, bad.

Great, whatever, but actually she goes through and you’re gonna want to take notes on this one, and if you know anyone else who’s trying to dabble in ai, then please send them this episode because honestly, there is so much value. I took so many notes when doing this episode with her. So she literally walks us through what kind of things we need to be prompting, what questions we need to be asking, how we need to be asking them, and what systems we should be using for what, because it’s not just chat duty.

I can’t even say it, chat GPT. It’s not just that. I know that’s one of the main ones, but like there’s Claude and then there’s a notebook, I think Notebook I think is the one we talk about, but like there’s so many clever ones, but she has a really great ability of breaking things down so that it doesn’t feel overwhelming and massive.

Also, she’s got a good freebie that she offers as well, so listen out for that. [00:05:00] But basically I am not gonna make you wait any longer. Here is the amazing Jen Lehner . Jen, welcome back to the podcast.

Jen: Oh, it’s so good to be here. I love, I love spending time with you Teresa

Teresa: I love spending time with you. And this is not our first rodeo. We have done this before and I was thinking actually that like, even though you’re talking about a different subject, the. The reason behind your passion for both subjects kind of comes always to the same thing. And that for me, if I am going to like put you in a box, is making our lives easier as business owners, entrepreneurs, solopreneurs.

Jen: I like that. I’m gonna borrow that.

Teresa: Yeah, you can take that. Because you came on before and talked about bringing on a team and you have helped me massively in bringing on a team. And this time we’re talking about, and I’m smiling as I say this because I don’t know where this is gonna go people, we’ll just see how it [00:06:00] goes.

But we’re talking about ai, your new favorite, favorite slash love-hate relationship thing that you love. So let’s start by. I wanna dive straight into the good stuff because we all know what AI is. We’re all using Tech GPT , we’re all doing that thing. One of the frustrations that I have is I said to you a few weeks back, I need a new team member to help me with content creation and to tell me what to post and tell me how to do it, and tell me what’s gonna work on YouTube.

Tell me what’s gonna work on the podcast. Tell me what titles are great. And you said to me, AI can do that. And I was like, like how any good can that, like, can it really do it? So can we stop there?

Jen: Sure. Okay, sure.

Teresa: Let’s start.

Jen: So specifically, well, I mean. It could just, it could do all of that stuff. I mean, I’ll tell you right now, I have a, an automation set up so that I speak to my voice [00:07:00] notes and I just do a brain dump about a certain topic. And then what happens is it. Shoots it over to ai, and then AI has been prompted in advance to make sense of it all, and it also knows how to write in my style, because I’ve created, I’ve, I’ve made sure that my brand voice is there and, and then at the same time, it’s creating posts for all, for everything.

So it’s giving me a YouTube script, a TikTok script, a LinkedIn post, a Facebook post, an Instagram post, all of that, and it is putting it on a spreadsheet. And it is simultaneously putting it on a Trello board. And when I tell you that this content you see, but when we first started with chat GPT, right? Like what? Five minutes ago? But no, really,

Teresa: two weeks ago

Jen: when we [00:08:00] started it was like, it was, it was, it was horrible, right? Like, I mean, we would say but, but we didn’t know that we have to give it. More context and we need to make sure that it knows our voice and our style and our parameters. Like you have to do a little bit of work on the front end to make sure that your output is good.

And once you, once you nail that, everything changes. So now, oh my gosh. Like our team, my team and I, we are operating at a level of efficiency. And we are putting out more content, more good content than ever before. And that is sort of like really a point I wanna make is that. You know, it’s so much more and, and it is so much more than, than something that should, that is saving us time, right? Like, it is actually should be something that enhances your creativity, that enhances the output, that your [00:09:00] content is better than it ever was before. Not, not a, you know, we don’t want it to be a consolation prize. We want. Our content and the stuff that we’re putting out there now, because we do have these tools at, at our disposal, it should be better than ever before.

That should be the bar, not just, it’s not just about saving time really. And then if you think about it, if we do save time, if we are doing better work, if we do become more creative, then we also lower our stress and we’re happier. Yeah. I mean like, you know, this is how I’m choosing to go into this. This world of ai.

Teresa: So I have, and I knew this was gonna happen, and I’m gonna really try and think of all the questions that people are gonna be having as you are talking, because as you’re saying things, I’m like that how, how, how, right. So first off, let’s talk about the automation, like that’s wild that you can voice note on your phone and that sets a whole host of things [00:10:00] like, is that using. Zapier, is that like, how so go on?

Jen: It is using Zapier and that is a, you know, that’s a level two, you know Yeah. Situation, right? The, but although, I mean, any beginner, anybody who’s ever used Zap or make, you know, can, can make this happen. It’s, it’s really, and, and I’m happy to share the template for that.

Automation with your, with you and your audience.

Teresa: That’d be amazing.

Jen: So I’ll give you that and then you could just literally plug that template into, into Zapier. And, and we prefer, we’ve tried to use make, and we might use, we might get a make account again, but, but for us, we, we just use Zapier so long in my business, but that’s what it is.

I mean, you don’t want me to go into every little granule of that Zap and honestly, my team set it up, so I don’t think I could, but, but just know that it’s, it’s plug and play.

Teresa: Okay, Great. So my next question then, just on that before, I wanna talk about how it knows your voice and knowledge base and [00:11:00] that sort of thing. But when we talk ai, we are talking, so at the moment I’m using chat, Claude Manus as like what I would call Realis. Like are you using all of them? Do we need to be using all of them? Like, I’m paying for Claude and Manis at the moment, or I’ve had to buy some more credits for Manis. ’cause obviously I run out, but. I was, I was paying for chat and then I stopped ’cause I was paying for Claude. And it’s like, oh, now I think I need to pay for chat again. Like, are you paying for all of these ais? And how many ais are you using?

Jen: I am using all of them, but you have to understand that like, this is what I’m doing, right? Like this is, this is what I’m doing. I’m doing this. So you don’t have to, you know, like mm-hmm. I wanna come and say, just use this, this, and this given you tell me what your needs are. And then I’m gonna say, well, these, these should suffice. But, but here is, here’s the thing. A couple of answers to that.

What is happening is, and I have to say this first, okay, so what is happening? Sam Altman recently talked about this in an interview. He’s the guy who’s, who is the head of, [00:12:00] of Open AI chat, GPT, and sora . And he, and this just made so much sense, but he said that, you know, AI, right now, what AI is right now is they’re all gonna be the same.

They’re all gonna have the same features. And, and you can see that happening, right? Like, like you get image generation that’s Oh, so wonderful and fast recently on chat, GPT. A Gemini adds it to their, to theirs. You know, they’re, they’re all gonna, they’re all gonna have all the same things. Okay? And so this is what it was like a long time ago when transistors were built for radios and other.

Like high tech equipment and people would say, you know, with transistor would be like the subtitle on the advertisement. Like with transistor. Well, everything we have that’s electronic has a transistor in it that’s, it’s gonna be ubiquitous, that is going to be ai and so therefore. To answer your question, should you be on all of them?

No, but they right now, they all, some [00:13:00] of them all do cool different things. So it depends on like what you want right now. But what is important is that, and that, this is the second thing he said was that. In order for them to be successful, what they have to focus on is keeping users where they are.

And he said they need a billion active daily users. And the way to do that is, number one, giving a good user experience. And number two is making it difficult for us to leave. Well, why would it be difficult for us to leave? Well, because we’ve spent hour, at that, you know, at this point already, probably hundreds of hours. And. And if you’ve been doing it right and you’ve been doing it well, chat, GPT knows all about your business and it knows a good bit about you as well, which means you are getting better output and you don’t have to keep repeating yourself. And it’s just a better experience, right? You don’t have to start from scratch.

Well, let’s say you remember Betamax and VHS if you’re older than Okay. A certain age,

Teresa: roughly. I mean, I was, [00:14:00] I’m very young, Jen. I’m very

Jen: Yeah, you were. You were. Yeah. You were still. On the bottle I’m sure. But like, I mean the baby bottle.

That was good. Brilliant. So, so yeah. So you remember like there was all of a sudden like Beta max just disappeared. It was like what? And we all had to go to the. Move change machines or if we didn’t have that machine, same thing. So you wanna be able to be nimble and not be held, like to be able to move quickly.

And the way that you do that is to make sure that the knowledge that you’re putting in, like. All that information that you’re training it in on your brand voice and all of that is on minimally a Google Doc that you could just, you know, that can travel with you from place to place, but, but know you don’t have to be on all of them.

But yes, they right now all do different things and some of the same things and some of the things are cooler than other things for certain jobs.

Teresa: Okay, awesome. So let’s talk about how, because this is the, this is the kind of key bit, right? So [00:15:00] I’m sure everyone listening to this has at some point played with all various things.

I like, one of the things I love the most and my, you know, my husband Paul, but he laughs at me because I chose a really nice voice for my chat. On of course, because obviously you get it and it’s like this very nice American sounding guy, and I’m like, every time I’m like, hi, chat. And he’s like, Hey Teresa I like swimming.

Obviously we joke, you’re, but you are so funny. But like I love that feature, which is why I’m using that and why I want chat and I’m thinking I’m gonna have to pay for it again because I wanna keep using that feature. Whereas Claude, I don’t think, does that, does it?

Jen: No, but Claude is magnificent. I mean, we could talk just this whole podcast about Claude, it, it does have the, it does give you the ability to talk into it and it will respond, but it doesn’t itself have a voice. But I’m telling you, maybe even by the time you publish this episode, it will be there.

Teresa: It might well do be, yeah, because they’re, they’re [00:16:00] just, again, they’re all

Jen: just catching up with each other.

Teresa: So we’ve all played with it. We’ve all got our things. However, one thing that I think most people can agree on is that the output sometimes is not great.

Right? And I think, and it’s taken a while, but I think people are learning that the only true way to get good output is by putting good input. I. What am I putting on? So when you talk about the knowledge base, what do you mean by knowledge base? Like what is that? What, what do they need to know about us and how do we like in this Google Doc, what am I writing down?

Jen: Okay, great question. So first step one is go into your LLM and ask what do, tell me everything you know about me and my business.

Teresa: LLM

Jen: Oh, thank you. Large language model. So that is, that is what chat GPT is, that is what Claude is that the, they’re large language models. And yeah, so you just ask, just say, what, [00:17:00] what do you, what do you know about me and my business?

So start there. You will be probably surprised at how much it does know about you.

Teresa: I’d be terrified. Yeah.

Jen: It’s, it knew my daughter’s SAT score. It was crazy. It was like, and your daughter scored blah, blah, blah, and the SAT and I was like, wait a minute. And actually it said her by name. It said, Scarlet scored whatever on the SAT score.

And the reason is because I had put her SAT scores in and had asked, are these good scores? You know, like, I don’t know. Should I be happy? Should I be concerned?

Teresa: Yeah. What, what kind of response response do I need to my daughter based on these scores? Brilliant.

Jen: I mean, so, so there, so you need to go into your settings, and this is true for kind of all of them, but in chat, GPT, you’ll notice in the top right hand corner, there’s like a little lasso, like a little circle. With, with dots. That’s what you hit that button. If you, if you’re gonna talk to chat about something. That you don’t want it to remember, and that might be just something like [00:18:00] a lot of client information you’re about to dump in there and you don’t want to confuse your chat. With information that it might think is yours.

Teresa: Okay. So yeah, if you have clients and you are suddenly going from one minute asking it about dog training and things like that, you don’t want it to think that that’s your business if you are doing it for a client. Okay. Makes sense.

Jen: Right now, if you. But if you’re, you know, you have ongoing work with a giant client and you’re gonna be using chat a lot. You just create a project folder. You could do that in Claude, you could do that in Notebook, lm. You could do it in in Chat, but you could, you could create like a project folder and that will keep it in there. But it doesn’t hurt to say. In the instructions because each, each project folder allows you to give it some parameters.

It doesn’t hurt to say, this is my client’s info, this is not my info. Don’t get the two confused, you know? Like, just to remind it. Okay. [00:19:00]

Teresa: Well, I was just gonna say, I think that’s one thing as well that like, I’m learning a little bit in terms of like the other day, Claude is writing something for me and I replied going, I’m from Britain.

Because it did some zeds where there should be S’S in the British language and it just changed it. And it’s like, it still surprises me that you can have almost that conversation with it and it just goes, okay. Yeah. Like I get it.

Jen: Nuts. Yeah. It’s, it is nuts.

Teresa: So, so, so we said on that, sorry. So we said. Ask it what you know about me?

Jen: Yes. That’s step one. Then you wanna make sure your settings are set up. You want memory turned so that that dotted things allow, allows you to turn memory off. But I think is the default. You wanna go in there and make sure your memory is turned on. And then there’s also a section that says, personalize, I believe, is how it’s worded.

Then you go in there, it doesn’t give you a ton of space, so you can’t put in, you know, 12 pages of PDF. But you could give a nice bio of what you [00:20:00] want to be in there. That I am British, you know? Yeah. Uh, this is where I live. I love gardening. I have a podcast like what? All the things, right? And then, so there’s that.

Now here’s the fun part. Then you’re gonna go and you’re gonna say, I want you to know me really, really well. Because I really want you to produce excellent. Content for me. I want excellent outputs from you every time. And I re and really say all this and I don’t wanna waste my time correcting you.

All that time all that much. Mm-hmm. It really, it really costs me a lot of time and money. Do you understand? And let him say it. Say, yeah, I understand. Okay, good. So we’re clear. What I need you to do is. First of all, create a list. I don’t care how many questions you need to get there, but create a list of all the questions you should ask me to get to know me and my business in order [00:21:00] you, for you to achieve the goal that I gave to you.

So then it’s gonna say, okay, and it’s gonna rip out a list, and it’ll be cur, it’ll be, I think I gave it a limit of 20 questions, but I think don’t, don’t give it that parameter. See how many questions it generates that it thinks it needs to give you for you to answer, for you to get to know it. Then you’re gonna say, okay, you’re gonna look at the list of questions.

If they look good, leave it. If they, if you need to make changes, change, change them, and then say, okay, now I want you to ask me these questions one by one. Do not ask me the second question until I have answered the first question and said the word next. Because you know how sometimes chat can just, all of a sudden you’re not even done with halfway with your sentence interrupt and then it’s already created a book for you, right? So, so you wanna put that in there, okay. Okay. Then your favorite feature, you get to talk to your boyfriend, Teresa, so you get to. You get to put it on voice mode, right? Yep. [00:22:00] And so you hold it in your phone. I mean, hold your phone in your hand and then start the, start the conversation and kick back, you know, get your cup of tea, kick your feet up, and have some nice music in the background.

And enjoy this interview with your ai. So your AI is going to interview you. You didn’t have to type anything. It’s gonna be so fun. Then you’re going to take the output, output from that. And that is going to be, then you can, I don’t know if all that’s not gonna fit in the place that I told you about.

Right. But now you, this is a great starting place. So now not only does it get to know you, but because you’ve done this in a, oh, and the other thing that you should do is record it. I turned on Loom video. As I was answering this so that I had a video slash audio recording of this, of this interview.

And, and then, so now this is, this becomes your knowledge base. So the [00:23:00] transcript of that, you can now put in all your other tools. Where they, wherever they ask. So not only has it heard the answers to your questions as I, I was about to say, is it, it’s heard the style that you communicate, like it’s literally hearing your voice.

The slang that you use. So make sure when you do the interview that you really are, you show up a hundred percent as yourself because that’s gonna be an added benefit. And then, so that’s, that’s an example of, a general knowledge base. Other knowledge bases would be the transcripts of all of your podcasts, the transcripts of all of your YouTube videos, the transcripts of or, or the copies of 200 LinkedIn posts, you know, copied and pasted.

All of the testimonials that you have everywhere, comments on your social, like all of this becomes knowledge basis. And I wouldn’t, I’m not saying you lump all those necessarily into one folder. Right. But you can imagine, and, [00:24:00] and well hold on. So testimonials, let’s say you, all you did was put, get all round up all your testimonials and put those in one folder.

That. It could be useful a hundred different ways in the future. When you’re writing content, when you’re thinking about offers, you know, creating new offers, and you’re thinking to yourself, when you hear me say this is like, oh my God, is there a robot that can do all that for me? Right. Like, go and grab all of my podcast transcripts.

Potentially, you know, very soon in the future. But right now, well actually I do have a tool that I. I was telling you about in our, in our pre-chat that you can use for your own content to scrape it and, and gather it. But your, I know a coach who hired four VAs from like Upwork or Fiverr or whatever.

And he hired four VAs to just do that, to just go and grab all of his content, transcribe it, and put it in. Folders, you know, [00:25:00] and it was sort of a beginning and an ending project, but it was very affordable and it was a really smart thing to do. And so, and then what he did with all of that is he took 12 years of coaching.

All of the transcripts put them into and, and created a, you could, you could create a custom GPT, which we could talk about in a moment. But what he did was he used, like, I don’t think he used this tool, but it’s a tool I use called Chat Simple, and it’s an actual chat bot that lives on my website that we have filled with knowledge bases. So hopefully when someone comes. To my website and wants to chat with, with the bot version of me that hopefully I’m over there giving correct responses. But what he did was he put it behind a paywall, I think it’s in his membership site. And I, and I messed around with it and it really was excellent.

I mean, he, he, it is, it is, you can coach with him based on, on how he set this up. Like the answers are really, really good and thorough. So, you know, [00:26:00] it’s. I think it’s, it’s worth it. And you, if you do that now, you’re just gonna be so, so happy. ’cause you’re gonna be so ahead of the game.

Teresa: I think, I mean all of this, I could just go, thanks, Jen, bye. And, and everyone has had so much value already. I think this is, this is the thing, right? We in our want a need to speed things up to do things quicker, to get AI to do stuff for us. We almost don’t wanna put the effort in in the first place. And that. Is absolutely crucial is what I’m getting from this.

It’s like if you want it to give you anything half decent, you need to put all this effort in. But like interview me any day of the week, like ask me to type it. I would hate it and I would really struggle, which is why I love having chat on my phone. Because I can literally have a conversation and like even, ’cause I was actually gonna ask you like just as a side note about what you use to transcribe, because that can get pretty pricey.

But sometimes [00:27:00] if I’ve got a short thing to transcribe, I’ll open the chat thing and I will play me talking to chat. And of course as he’s listening, he’s typing it out. So like if I need, like when I do a hook for my podcast, when I think, oh, the hook’s good, I just wanna put it in an email.

I’ll just play it to my chat, GPT, and they’ll just type out what I said. So yeah. What do you use to transcribe? So we currently use the script and I pay for X amount of hours or whatever. But like when I think about what could be really good for mine is coaching calls. But my coaching calls are hours long.

My podcast. I mean, I have got the transcripts of that ’cause that’s what part of what we do, but like this would be hours and hours of content. What transcriber do you use to like, and do you pay for it? ’cause I guess that is gonna cost money.

Jen: I think, I don’t know. I think we do pay for it. I have to ask, I have to ask my assistant.

Um, I mean, I know we have the script. I know we use, you know, we have Ollie, we have Happy Scribe, [00:28:00] but there is another one that is called Whisper Light. It’s a plugin. Have you heard of this?

Teresa: No.

Jen: And I’m looking for it on the top of my toolbar. Hold on, let me just, but it’s a really cool plugin and I’m just gonna have to have to get back to you on that.

Teresa: That’s fine. Okay. Because obviously that costs money. And the, the other thing I wanna say though is when I was debating about paying for one of the ais the other day I thought to myself, this is like $30 a month or whatever. Like I couldn’t even get. A couple of hours of a VA time for $30 a month.

So actually like that’s the way I’m trying to think about it. Instead of just going, God, that’s another subscription that I’m paying for. This is saving me time and saving me money ultimately because I would have to pay someone to do or could pay someone to do that. Okay. Let’s talk about chats custom, whatever you said.

Jen: Oh, custom GPT. Sure. So if you [00:29:00] go. A couple of things. So if you go into chat GPT and you look over on the left, there’s a little thing that says like Discover GPTs, and it might even, and then there’s also like the GPT store. And if you go in there, it’s like how Apple features certain podcasts that are really popular.

You’ll see that there are some that are featured like. You know, consumer favorites, and then there’s some that are created by OpenAI that they own. And basically they’re little specialists. You know, it’s like you could get there probably on your own, but not as well because they’ve put in the right questions and prompts to get you there faster.

So the other day I was having trouble, I’m trying to propagate a hydrangea from my deceased mom’s hydrangea plant that her neighbor has and. I murdered them because they were doing fine and I didn’t realize that they didn’t, they don’t like direct sun, and they were doing well in the window. [00:30:00] And then I moved them and then I, and basically I killed these little, these little transplants.

So, but this plant, this, this. This custom GPT that was, it’s called Planty, I think, and it is owned by OpenAI. And I was able to just point my camera at it and talk. But when I, I told it the story like this is what I’m trying to do, and it didn’t just spit out. Like something that it found on Google or like a Wikipedia, it was very specific ’cause it could see my plants and it said, let’s come up with a name for each one so we can root them on.

And you know, that’s really sweet way to honor your mom. You know, I’m touched. And it was like, it was really an incredible conversation. And really the, the, it gave me just so many great ideas. So. That’s an example in our kind of business. I’ve created one that, and you could think of it sort of like an app.

Sort of that you could share with your, with your audience. But, you know, I have a, a content creation system that I’ve had for [00:31:00] years called the front row CEO content creation system. That is the idea being that it’s, it helps you create a quarter, three months worth of strategic content in just a few hours.

That was always my selling point. Like, you could sit down with my this and be done in a few hours and have a content plan for the next three months and, and people still use it. And it’s, it’s my, the people in my, in my community like it a lot, but I have, so I have videos that talk about this system.

I have an actual workbook of this system, have all these, all this stuff, right? So I just loaded it all into this custom GPT when I created it, and it’s very easy. You click a button that says create, you give it instructions and it takes it from there. So I, I said like. I want you to take this system and help people create their content and in really like no time.

It gave me the, it created, it. It’s got a cute little logo and my [00:32:00] community just loves it. I’ll share it with your audience. It just, oh, I love that. You go in and it just walks you through the whole process and at the end it gives you minutes, not hours. It gives you, and this, and this one doesn’t do three months.

I have it do it month, month by month. So it’ll do a month. And it creates a table like this beautiful table. So at the end it spits out this just like tangible thing for your people. It’s like, it really is amazing. And you could create them internally as well. So we took all of our SOPs in my business, put them into, into a, a custom GPT.

So now. My team has a question about something about, you know, producing our podcast or whatever. They could just ask the question and it’s really like your team info hub and it, and you can, you could create smaller ones, like just one for your podcasts, just the SOPs for your newsletter, just the SOPs for whatever.

But it’s all there and it’s pretty cool. [00:33:00] Not to confuse everyone, but for that internal stuff, I’m starting to think that chat GPT projects are, are really even better. They kind of do the same thing, you know, but I, I think I like them better. I’m, I’m still, I’m still investigating that.

Teresa: Still playing with it.

Jen: Yeah, still playing with that.

Teresa: Okay, so you said something earlier. That I just wanna touch on just to kind of understand what you mean. You said, now we talked about all the different ways and I said Claude, and you said, I could literally just talk about Claude. What if you had to summarize it, what is it about Claude and what would someone be using Claude for over chat?

Jen: Couple of things. One is, you know, with prompting, so here we are talking about what you put in, really, how well you. What you put in is going to determine the out, out outcome. Well, the thing about prompting is you can [00:34:00] literally, if you don’t know how to prompt, you could just ask chat like. I need to do X, but I don’t know what, what’s the best prompt I can ask you to get to this outcome?

So chat GPT will give you a pretty good prompt. However, Claude, and you get, you can get there by going to console to this feature. I’m about to tell you console.anthropic.com. And on this, at this console, it has these things called meta prompts. Okay? And. These if, if you’ve been looking around at all and paying attention, a lot of people are putting out, like you’ll see a prompt that someone is sharing and it is incredibly complex and you’re thinking, I could have ne you know, I got a lot, a lot to learn ’cause I could never do that. Chances are they’re creating it over here on this dashboard. So basically. It you tell it the what you’re trying to do, and it will create this unbelievably [00:35:00] detailed. Amazing prompt with things you never would’ve thought about using in your prompt.

Okay. Incredible. So then it, but it’s sort of like, do you know what Mad Libs are? Do you have those over there?

Teresa: No. Well, we might, but I don’t, I’m not sure I know what they’re, it’s like a fill in the blank.

Jen: It’s like a funny story, and then there’ll be a blank that says like verb or adjective. Anyway, the message being it’s fill in the blank, so it’ll have like, you’ll see. It’ll have like a space that’s red with brackets and you fill in the necessary thing and then you click run and it will run the prompt and just prepare to have your mind blown. Number two, it has this thing called artifacts.

And artifacts are really things. Okay. So you can have it create from. You could put in all of your sales information for the last five years and ask it to create beautiful charts or [00:36:00] spreadsheets, or not spreadsheets, charts, or tables of that, and make sense of it for you. And they really are beautiful.

You could create a webpage. You could create a landing page like Manus. You can, one example, I went in, and I wanted to, so, you know, as you mentioned, one of the things I do is help people find their perfect match virtual assistant, like human being. And, and sometimes I have to make a case for people to understand like, really how much time and money they will save by, by making that choice. So I wanted, so I just told Chad, I’m, I’m making a sales page. I wanna show, I need an interactive calculator. That would somehow show this and it created the most beautiful interactive calculator. And I said, use my brand color, hashtag EEC 2 3 9 0. That’s my pink use that, and it gave me. The very first thing it gave me was usable.

And then [00:37:00] you could get code or you could download it and you get the code and it just embeds on your sales page.

Teresa: I saw this

Jen: and it has like a little slide doohickey at five seconds, I mean maybe five minutes max. That, that’s how long that took me. So it’s really, it’s really like magic. And I was thinking for you. Whether it was a, a custom GPT or something that you create in artifacts. I think like a calculator, I think for you for, for what you teach with launches and how you have people plug in certain numbers. All day long like you could do.

Teresa: That’s amazing.

Jen: Something like that would be, would be amazing. And then the other thing that I would say about Claude is that it’s a better writer than Chat GPT .

It just is. It’s just better. I, I don’t know why. Maybe Claude, I mean chat, GPT will get as good a Claude, but I mean, I’m, I’m partial to the, to the way Claude writes. And Claude also has project folders the way that chat GPT does, and they’re [00:38:00] super helpful.

Teresa: I love all that. And you’re right, so I’ve had Claude write me things and I’ve even said to it, make it sound more like me and I. One of my things that I guess I do is I make complicated things sound very simple and break it down, and he changed all the language. Like he, it was very simple sounding language, but it said exactly the same thing and it’s like, yeah, that is, that is what I would sound like. The other thing I had Claude do.

Which again, for me, creating this program that I’m creating saved me so much time is in my Grow Launch sale program. I give you templates for everything now. I have written sales pages, sales emails, emails to get people to sign up to webinars, like all of these things. And I put those into Claude and said, create me a template based on that.

And it literally took the theme of everything that I wrote and created me templates. And then I would even say things like, [00:39:00] where it’s in brackets, I don’t want it in capitals, I want it in lowercase, because that’s the format in which I would do when I’m doing templates. And it just changed it all like it was.

Honestly saving so much time.

Jen: Amazing. I love that.

Teresa: I’ve got two more questions for you ’cause I’m conscious of our time, but honestly I could go on and on and on. So the first question is, and these are a little bit off the wall now, how do you keep them tidy? Right?

Like I try to go back to the same chats when I’m talking about a certain thing or like, is that important? Should I bother? But I like things, timing.

Jen: Well, the good news is you can, yeah, I think if you’re gonna, if you wanna continue with the previous conversation, you know, now there’s a, a search bar on the left hand side in chat. So you could type in dog biscuits, you know, and that chat will come up and then you could just continue the conversation.

I think that is helpful, but it’s, having all these prompts that we’re all finding and people are sharing and you know, we’re copying and pasting them. Some of them are on a Google Doc, some of them are on an Apple note, and [00:40:00] these knowledge bases that you’re building where you, you know, you’re gonna put them on a Google Doc and, you wanna make sure you know that you, that you organize them within your drive. But really back to, you know what I was saying earlier about being able to be nimble and put your hands on something. Honestly, my biggest pet peeve in life is going into Canva or my drive or something and not being able to find what I want when I want me.

It makes me nuts. So it’s a great question and it’s really important, and in fact, I’ll give you a link you could share. I’ve got this free AI organizing dashboard that we’re using in my business that has helped a lot. So there’s tabs on there so you could share, you could save. Favorite prompts and classify them like what they are.

You can put links to your different knowledge bases, you know, your brand voice, your, you know, about your company. All of that stuff is there. And, and just keep it, keep it organized so you can, you can

Awesome.

Teresa: [00:41:00] We’ll make sure we share that when we do the show notes. So make sure you go and have a look at them. And then my final question is, does this stuff scare you or are you okay with it?

Jen: It does scare me. In fact, I’m going to a, someone invited me to this talk at a local university where some security experts are gonna come in and talk about ai. Like, wanna terms of military stuff, right?

Like, I know, I don’t wanna know that, but I don’t really, I don’t, I really don’t. But I’m, I’m gonna go. Of course it does. It really, it, it does. But here’s the thing, like. It’s here. And what good does it do me to be scared, you know? Yeah. And so I think all we can do is, you know. All of us who consider ourselves to be forces for good, you know, that we just use it in a, in a way that makes us better, makes our work better, frees up more of our time so we could spend more time with our loved ones and do meaningful [00:42:00] things. And also I think, you know, just making, like really making a conscious effort to remain the thought leader. And look at AI as your thought partner, that it’s not, you know, that it’s not replacing, you know, our creativity and, and all of that, but just enhancing us.

I heard that on another podcast, and I wish I could give credit to the person that said that, and I don’t remember who said it, but, but yeah, I mean, I don’t know what it’s here. We, we just have to figure out. How to make the best of it.

Teresa: And I think that’s the thing, isn’t it? I mean, whether we like it, love it, fear it, it, it’s not going anywhere.

And this is changing. Like one thing I do wanna touch on quickly before we finish is the fact of how you are trying to navigate teaching this stuff. Because every time you go in to do something, you find 30 other things that it can do and that must be crazy.

Jen: Yeah, I was saying like, I, this is, this is the hardest. Like I [00:43:00] typically, I mean, yeah, I’m a bit of a pro procrastinator, but for the most part, you know, once I get going and I have my, I, see my path forward, I will knock it out. And I have not been able to do that with some of this content that I’m creating because once I go to. Investigate, like, or to go look at said thing, like, maybe I go over to Claude and I’m like, okay, I am gonna do a slide on Claude artifacts.

And then I go over there and they’ve added some amazing new thing that I now have to learn, you know? And I have to, I have to talk about it. And the next thing I know, four, five hours is gone because, you know, I’ve learned it, but then I’ve also played with it. And then I, you know, and it, it’s crazy. It’s like nailing jello to a wall.

So, yeah. It’s exciting and I think it’s gonna stay this way for the next, for the foreseeable future. I just think, you know, it’s not changing day by day. It literally is changing minute by minute when we get off this call, I’m gonna go into my inbox and there’s gonna be an email. Because [00:44:00] I, you know, I’m subscribed to all the AI newsletters in the world, and there’s gonna be something that’s going to be like, you know, chat GPT 5.0 was released. Yeah. Which I’m waiting for anxiously, and that’s gonna be a huge moment. But yeah.

Teresa: So this is why we need Jen in our world because two things, firstly. This is Jen’s job. And therefore, even though it’s frustrating that every time you go to look at something, you then lose two hours. But overall, it’s part of what you do.

And secondly, one of the things that Jen really promotes, which I think I want to almost caveat the entire conversation in, is it’s about what do you need it to do? Not what can it do like, and I, do you have a better way of saying that? Like. How do you say that? Like it’s, it’s about what, how it’s gonna save you time. Not, oh, great. It has this feature, which is cool.

Jen: Right. I mean, I think there’s a little, there’s always gonna be a little bit of that because it’s new and some of us more than others wanna go and play in the [00:45:00] sandbox. But overall, I would just say like, if you can put a filter on things as it comes across your, you know, as it comes across your desk, and if you could just stop yourself before you go and click and, and, and go down to the rabbit hole, just say, do I, is this something that is going to save me time? Or cost me time? Do I, do I really do I really need that? It’s a, it, it, yeah. So it’s a, that’s a better way of going into it. Instead of saying, hearing me tell you that Claude can create a calculator, okay. You don’t need to dream up away that you can use a calculator. It should be you’re in your program and you’re, and you think, I wish there was a way that I could demonstrate how much money they could save by having a some sort of calculate, oh, calculator clog can do that. You know? Yeah. It’s sort of, and the other thing is, you know, we’ve come this far in life, whether you’re 30 or 40 or 50 or 60, we’ve come this far [00:46:00] without ai. And so, so often it is just, you forget it’s there and you get at the end of a workday and you’re like, oh my God, I could have used ai. So you know, I’ve just been telling people to stick up. Put a sticky note right on your screen of your computer that says ai question mark. Like to ask yourself, can AI help me right now? Can I tell you one more thing though?

Teresa: Yes, please.

Jen: That I wanted to tell you that that is so cool that I think everybody can benefit from it.

I don’t hear enough people talking about it. That is Notebook lm. It is free. It is owned by Google and you just, just type it in your search bar notebook, lm, and you go over there. And I love it for a lot of reasons. I love their beautiful notebooks that you can create very easily. And once you put any information in there, you, and it allows you to put more information than just about any of the other platforms for free.

So like you could put, you know, 40 of your YouTube videos or podcast episodes or whatever. And then. Ask it questions based on your own [00:47:00] content, and it will automatically create for you an FAQ a briefing document, all these really cool things. Okay. You could also upload audio, you could upload PDFs, you could upload PNGs, everything.

It takes pretty much everything. Okay? So there’s that. But it has this feature, which you’ve probably seen before, where it’s got this like built in podcast. Situation where you can click the audio review and what happens is this man and this woman start to have a conversation. Have you seen this, Teresa?

Teresa: You showed me while we’re at the job conference.

Jen: Okay. Right. So it’s insane. Well, and the people sound so natural, but you might think, well, what in the world? What am I, I’m not gonna use that recording as a podcast. What is the real point of that? And after playing with this for a while, I will tell you the way that I think it is so incredible.

First of all, you can now give them directive. It used to be you put in the content, you press the button, and then they just start talking about what you put in there. [00:48:00] Now you could steer the conversation. So you could put content in there and say, I want you to talk about the blah, blah, blah part of this.

And they, that’s the conversation. They will, they will have. And while they’re talking, you can interrupt them just like a caller on a radio show and say, wait, can you, can you back up? And. Talk about what you just said, but give more attention to the headline that I wrote on this sales page.

I need you to give me your, you know, or give me, you know, do you think it sounds too salesy? Whatever. I don’t know, like whatever you wanna give it. It could be you giving a presentation. Video of you giving a presentation, then asking them to have a discussion about your presentation before you ever go give it.

Now here’s the thing, what they talk about is really good. They are in, they, I, I mean, it’s intelligent conversation and so you, it’s like having two experts living [00:49:00] in your office on any topic under the sun, like right there, okay? It just blows my mind every time I use it. Also, it will. It will rephrase things or it will use phrasing that you wouldn’t have thought of, that you could then also put in your, your sales emails, your nurture sequences or whatever.

For me, it gave me this, I was trying to, I was trying to explain in my slide deck, I was talking about how I think Gen Xers have an advantage. In some sense over Gen Zers and, and the younger folk when it comes to LLMs. ’cause large language models are based on natural language and we have more experience talking.

We have more experience in a variety, more situations, right? Because we’ve lived longer and so we have an advantage. So what they said was. AI is talky, not techy. Is that not the best [00:50:00] line you have ever heard?

Teresa: Brilliant, brilliant.

Jen: It’s talky , not techy, and you better believe I’ve got that on all my, all my stuff now. And it’s not like, it’s not like infringement because essentially I kind of created it, right? Because I created it in my ai, it’s not like, and it’s not like they stole it from somebody’s book or anything

Teresa: because they’re using it from your content.

Jen: From my content, it just, it just synthesized it and, and like did a simulation or conversion of my thoughts into, into that.

So anyway, I just didn’t want us to hang up before. We talked about that because I don’t think a lot of people are really using no , it’s a great, it’s free. It’s free for all, you know,

Teresa: so I’m gonna add that.

Jen: At least last time I checked it was free, which was like two days ago.

Teresa: Which, yeah. Which, you know, 30 seconds ago could have been wrong. So, we’ll, see. And very moment we record this and, and how many weeks it takes to come out. I mean, who knows? This could be outdated by the minute now I’m just I’m sure. But, but that’s the speed it moves and that’s why. [00:51:00] Lovely segue.

You need someone like Jen in your world because. I don’t want to have to like spend hours researching whether something can do something. I want to go to Jen, which I have by the way, in past and gone. Jen, is there an AI that can do this? And Jen’s gone yes or no, or here it is, or whatever. So that’s why you need to go check Jen out, follow her, go consume her stuff.

She is excellent. Jen.

Jen: Thank you Teresa. Thank you.

Teresa: I have written a ton of notes. The kind of the whole big secret is that actually this isn’t Jen and I talking. These are ais talking

Jen: surprise, don’t we look real?

Teresa: Yeah, we’re not real. These are ais. No, I’m joking. Obviously, in case someone, because when I do joke about things, people think I’m serious and then they go, really?

And I, no, no. I am joking. Okay. Jen, you are amazing. I love you so very much, and I’m so grateful to call your friend.

Jen: Love you too.

Teresa: Like where can people come and find you? Jen?

Jen: You could just go to jen lehner.com and [00:52:00] that’s L-E-H-N-E-R. Okay. And if you’re interested in more AI stuff, that’s at jen lanar.com/masterclass AI for now.

Teresa: Perfect Jen , it’s been a pleasure and very informative. Thank you so much.

Jen: Thank you, Teresa. I enjoyed it.
