In this episode, I’m talking about one of the biggest reasons launches fail to attract enough sign-ups—and it’s probably not what you think. If your webinar, challenge, boot camp, or masterclass isn’t getting the registrations you expected, it’s rarely because people aren’t interested. More often than not, the real issue is your messaging. I explain why getting people to sign up is the first crucial step in a successful launch and why your message needs to instantly communicate why your audience should invest their time.
We dive into the simple messaging shifts that can dramatically improve your launch results. I share how to focus on the transformation your audience wants, speak directly to their biggest struggles instead of your own agenda, and make one clear promise rather than trying to teach everything at once. By the end of this episode, you’ll have a practical framework to review your next launch and create messaging that attracts more of the right people.
3 Key Takeaways:
Be Crystal Clear About the Outcome
People sign up because of the result they’ll get, not because of the format of your event. Make it obvious what they’ll achieve by attending.
Focus on Their Problems, Not Your Content
Your audience cares more about solving their challenges than hearing everything you plan to teach. Lead with their pain points and desired transformation.
Keep Your Message Focused
Avoid overwhelming potential attendees with too many promises. One clear, compelling outcome is far more effective than trying to cover everything.

I know what it's like when you've poured your heart into a launch, you've pulled together all the pieces, you've created an awesome webinar or challenge or boot camp, and you put it out to the world and people just aren't signing up. Not only is it frustrating and disheartening, but you know because you need people in the challenge or in the boot camp to actually then buy, that your actual sales at the other end are not going to be where you want them to be.
So in today's episode, we are gonna look at the one reason why people might not be joining your launch experience.
If we've not met, my name is Teresa Heath-Wareing, and I help course creators, membership owners, and coaches grow their online business in a way that feels really good to them. So if you've done all the courses, watched all the podcasts, then you are absolutely in the right place. Today, in this episode, we are focusing on one thing, and that thing is why aren't people signing up to your launch experience?
u will know that in order to [:Now, the good news is this used to be w- between 1 and 8%, and actually, it's shifting a bit, and I'm due to update my numbers very soon, and when I do, I will obviously do a video. But if we haven't got those people in the launch experience in the first place, then we're not going to be able to sell to them on the other end because the launch experience is the thing that warms them up.
It's the thing that gets them ready, and it's the thing that helps them make a buying decision. So if someone hasn't gone through your launch experience, it doesn't mean they're not going to buy, but it makes it much less likely. And I guess the first thing I should really say is if they're not signing up to the launch experience, it's not you, okay?
is not a personal they don't [:It's good that we're not just literally watching webinar after webinar, wasting our time, but it means that as people who put on launch experiences, who sell online offers, we need to be much more sharper with the messaging and what we're putting out there in order getting people to sign up. So the number one reason why people aren't signing up to your launch experience is you are not conveying why they need to.
a launch experience, we want [:If they are your perfect customer, they need to resonate so well with what you are saying on that page or in that post that they immediately think, "I need to sign up to that because I need to know the answer to that thing," or, "They understand me, and they might have the solution to my problem." So there are three things I want you to think about when you are coming up with the title, the theme, the framework of your next launch experience.
The first thing you need to think about is, why do they want to come to your actual launch experience? What are they going to get out of it? So what is the transformation of spending that hour with you? What is the promise that you are giving them, and why are they going to hang out with you for an hour or do a challenge with you?
the online space, that it's [:And you need to make it so incredibly clear to them and lead it from a benefits point of view. This isn't, "Hey, you get an hour's free training with me." Great, but I haven't got an hour, or I haven't got that particular problem at this particular time. Like, what is it that you're going to help me with?
What am I going to arrive with, and what am I going to leave with? We need to make that so very clear. And let's be completely honest. It needs to be something that your customer is struggling with. It needs to be something that is like, "Yes, that's me." As I said before, every time someone reads anything of yours, but particularly in a launch experience, they should just be like, "You are talking to me."
So for [:So it needs to be really, really specific and really clear what they're going to get. The second thing I want you to think about when you're planning your next launch experience is it's about them, not about you. This isn't about what do I want to teach, and this is nice, and I like talking about this.
have right now? So it's all [:And then the last thing I want you to think about is I want you to deliver one clear thing. One of the problems we have, I have, is that we wanna overgive or we wanna share all this stuff, and we want to be kind and be like, "I'm gonna cover this and talk about this, and actually this bit is important if I'm sharing this bit."
That is so overwhelming and will confuse your audience. And if they're confused, they don't make a decision. So one clear thing. And I know what you might be thinking, "Yeah, but, like, not everyone has that problem." No, I know that, but it is going to attract the people who do, and we want to pick the people who have that specific problem because then it will attract them.
tract anyone. Whereas if you [:What is the title of the actual webinar? What is the thing I'm trying to convey? And how can I make that so clear and so sharp that when my customer looks at it, they go, "That's me. I need to know that," or, "I either want that transformation or I have that pain." But it needs to be clear and it needs to be super, super specific.
This is one of the problems I see all the time, and actually, with the online space where it is today, the messaging needs to be sharper than ever. So any length of time that you're going to put into really sharpening that message and really helping people understand what it is you're going to do for them, the better.
this, I have a challenge for [:Is this a pain or a problem they have right now?" Like I said, if people aren't signing up, it's not because it's anything to do with you. It's to do with the fact that you're not conveying a message to them that it's worth signing up to, and your customer doesn't think that it's valuable enough for them to spend their time on.
ng that they really need and [:
